Automatic Pinion Press-Fit Device, primarily used for the automated press-fitting and removal of pinions and couplings. The drive end of a shaft features an internal tapered structure, requiring the pinion shaft to be pressed into the shaft's internal tapered bore. Previously, installing the pinion gear required two operators working in coordination: one operating a manual pump and jack to apply axial pressure to the pinion shaft, while another used a high-pressure electric pump to apply radial pressure to the shaft's internal tapered bore. Controlling pressure during this process was challenging and demanded high operator skill. Furthermore, per process requirements, after pinion installation, a manual pump was still needed to maintain pressure on the pinion for 2 hours. 

Following discussions with the client, this automatic pinion press-fit assembly system was designed to meet their specifications. Utilizing a PLC control system, it precisely manages automated operations, offering advantages such as simplified operation and high automation levels.

It operates in both automatic and manual modes. The primary working principle is as follows: The axial pump in the control cabinet delivers axial pressure, using a jack to push the pinion gear into the inner tapered bore. The radial pump provides radial pressure, which flows through the oil passages inside the pinion gear into the inner tapered bore. This forms an oil film that expands the inner tapered bore, allowing the axial pressure to press the pinion gear into position.
